Our Focus
AAUW is an organization of action.
Our volunteers are involved in grassroots and public policy issues at the local, state, national, and international levels. As a team, branches work to support a system of public education that promotes gender fairness, equity, and diversity; self sufficiency for all women; and equality, individual rights, and social justice for a diverse society. Being a member of AAUW provides an opportunity to make a difference in our communities and in our world.
AAUW Educational Foundation annually provides $3.9 million in fellowships, grants, and awards to women and community action projects worldwide. The Legal Advocacy Fund, a subsection of the Educational Foundation, provides additional support and funds for women involved in lawsuits against sexual discrimination in education.
